Career Camp [2022]

Christopher Stovall graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology, located in Chicago, IL, in 2014. Upon graduation, Christopher began using his background knowledge of hydraulics, that he obtained during his undergraduate years, to navigate the professional engineering world as it pertains to fluid power.

Currently, Christopher works as a mechanical engineer in the oil and gas industry. Utilizing his extensive engineering background, particularly in the agricultural and construction industries, to generate solutions that center around improving the efficiency and effectiveness of hydromechanical systems.

Christopher currently holds a certificate as a Certified Fluid Power Specialist and as an Engineer-In-Training (used to obtain Professional Engineer’s License).

Carla leads product management for the Ads and Data / Machine Learning Platform at Niantic, maker of Augmented Reality games like Pokemon Go. 

Before Niantic, Carla led digital growth and transformation initiatives with Fortune 500 companies across retail, financial, IT and telco as a consultant at McKinsey. 

Prior to that, she worked on setting up the first industrial pollution cap and trade program in India and helped tech companies go IPO or raise funding as an investment banker in Hongkong. Carla has a Masters of Science in Engineering Systems from MIT and graduated cum laude from Harvard University in Earth & Planetary Sciences. 

Anthony Berglund is a Senior Research Manager with the Crime Lab and has worked on several projects related to gun violence reduction, policing, and police training. Recently he has been involved in finding ways to improve clearance rates for homicides and non-fatal shootings, and in providing improved training for police officers making critical decisions in the field. He holds a master’s degree from the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University.

Anneke graduated from MIT in 2010 with degrees in Literature and Biology/Creative Writing. After several years working as a writer and editor in the continuing medical education field, she went on to receive a PhD in English and Comparative Literature from the University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill, where she focused on American environmental literature. She has spent time as a scholar-in-residence at The Byrd Polar Research Institute at OSU and the Mary and David Harrison Institute for American History, Literature, and Culture at UVA, and led courses in composition, American literature, and film. She left academia in 2021 and now divides her time between UX research, fiction writing, and TTRPG design.
